dj Radar

Born half Dutch/Surinamese/Portugese and half English. His musical taste is as diverse and extreem like his blood and is a strong believer in the saying: "Don't be a prisoner of you own style!"..

Started to "Dj" at age 11 at his mom's "houseparties" mixing his mother's smootch, disco, pop and rock records together with his cassettes recorded from the radio.

Then as a teenager moved on to play in local jazz-funk bands as a bass player.Being introduced to numerous Jazzartists by his aunt (who for instance knew Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis!) at the North Sea Jazzfestival as a youngster, he was asked to help out with the ‘James Brown's Funky People Reunion Tour’ aged 18! He stayed on the road (worldwide) NON-STOP as ROAD MANAGER for 6 years for the likes of Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley, Bootsy Collins (with whom he STILL works occasionally) Bernie Worrell, Bobby Byrd, Lyn Collins, Carleen Anderson, James Brown, Eddie Harris, The Meters, Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield, SOS band, Candy Dulfer, Gotcha!, Prince and George Clinton (with whom he lived for a while in Detroit and recorded some tracks with!) and Parliament / Funkadelic (incl. Amp Fiddler with whom he also still tours occasionally).
He also toured with Eboman supporting the Prodigy.

Coming back to Holland in '94 he started concentrating on his own musical development and started DJ-ing full time (although he still tourmanages once a year). His first residencies were "Hardbop" at Fellini's and "Sub Club" at the legendary RoXy together with Frankie D. Though being very modest and humble, he is said to be one of the most diverse DJ's in the Netherlands; whether he's playing electro, minimal, house, breakbeats, d'n'b, hip hop, nujazz or Classic disco/funk/soul it always is guaranteed to be VERY Funky and to tear the roof of the sucker! He's also a master in holding down the groove and warming up for headliners, something that most others don't have patience for and don't see the point of doing..

Former resident at "LOS"/Tivoli and the PLF in Utrecht, S.O.D. in LOOS! and the Drum Rhythm Nights, West Pacific in Amsterdam, Jetlag Lounge in Den Haag, Blauwe Vis in Rotterdam.
He also has had residencies at most of the clubs (Winkel van sinkel, Paradiso, Melkweg, Effenaar, Stalker, Silly's, Rechter, de Vloer, Mezz, etc.) and parties like Supernatural, Shitfaced, Club Geluk, Club Bongo, The Sub, Ruigoord, Getaway, Awakenings and festivals in Holland and some abroad (Lowlands-this year will be his 10th year playing the festival, North sea Jazz festival, Heineken Jazz, Drum Rhythm Festival, Paaspop, Pinkpop, Mysteryland, Digital Overdose, Rotterdam Filmfestival, Motel Mozaique, 5 days off… to name a few). As well as countless festivals and parties abroad.
The names of artists on the same bill is endless..

Currently he's enjoying his residencies at Club 11!, Amsterdam (together with Roxy buddy Richard Parker every 1st Saturday of the month) which has the best view to your thrills!, and every thursday @ Paard van Troje (Den Haag).
Since 2005 he is touring worldwide with the legendary moviedirector PETER GREENAWAY on the DJ/VJ sideproject : The Tulse Luper VJ Performance" (see www.notv.com).
